Fan Hot Take: Is Cam Roigard the form halfback in New Zealand?

Following another impressive display from 22-year-old Cameron Roigard in round 14, Hurricanes Fan Seb said:

“The true test for a halfback is how good they play in the wet and Cam Roigard was again outstanding for the Hurricanes in a losing effort against the Blues. His slick passing, towering box kicks, incisive running and strong defence kept the Hurricanes in the game. He’s the number one halfback in New Zealand and cannot be ignored by All Blacks selectors.”

With a game against the Crusaders this weekend and the playoffs just around the corner, Roigard will have a chance to show the All Blacks selectors his ‘big match’ temperament as the Hurricanes eye a potential quarterfinal against either the Blues or Brumbies.

Congrats to Seb who has won a double pass to a Super Rugby Pacific match for having his ‘hot take’ published.
