Following the Fijian Drua’s highly impressive 41-17 drubbing of the Queensland Reds in round 15, Blues fan Josh believes the Drua have what it takes to stun the Crusaders in this weekend’s quarterfinal in Christchurch.
“The Crusaders better be worried. They are ravaged with injury and didn’t fire a shot against the Hurricanes. I don’t think they’ll be able to handle Fijian Drua’s attack. The only thing that can save them in the quarterfinal is their cold weather,” Josh S said.
Josh’s opinion quickly garnered a passionate response online from Crusaders fans with over 700 comments across Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
Many of the comments disagreed with Josh and said that the Crusaders would rise to the top again in 2023, with many fans asking how many titles the Blues had won compared to the Crusaders.
A hearty number of Fijian Drua fans praised Josh’s opinion and said their team were not coming to Christchurch to make up the numbers but to pick up their second win of the season against the Crusaders and progress to the final four.
With the potential for a Crusaders v Blues semifinal next week, things have just got even more spicy between the two New Zealand powerhouse teams.
Congrats to Josh S who has won a double pass to a Super Rugby Pacific match for having his ‘hot take’ published.
