It was a significant award for Plummer, who stepped up when first-choice five-eighths Stephen Perofeta was injured after a promising start to the season. Plummer made every post a winner in leading the side to its table-topping position in DHL Super Rugby Pacific.

All Blacks flanker Dalton Papali'i was named the Blues Forward of the Year, with Aldora Itunu picking up the same award for the women.

Emerging halfback Taufa Funaki, who also seized his chance when Finlay Christie missed a large part of the campaign to injury, was named Back of the Year, while Vahaakolo added the women's Back of the Year award.

No8 Hoskins Sotutu was named the Blues Players' Player of the Year, and Cole Forbes and Kahlia Awa were named the best rookies for the men and women, respectively.

Loose forward Rob Rush was presented with the Blues' Community Award for 2024.
